Computational spectroscopy in the age of the Extremely Brilliant Source: from Punch Cards to Artificial Intelligence
At the end of August, the ESRF-EBS has entered in user service mode. To support the unprecedented increase in the volume of data produced on the beamlines, novel developments for online and offline data analysis have started to be deployed. In what concerns computational spectroscopy, these developments revolve around the democratisation of the tools used to analyse the experimental data. In this webinar, I will give an overview of how these tools have evolved over the years, what is their current status, and what are the next steps to more tightly integrate computations into the data acquisition workflows.
