GEOMATERIALS Workshop

AVENIA and the ESRF – The European Synchrotron, will organise the first workshop dedicated to Geomaterials on March 25 and 26, 2024, in Grenoble.

The primary goal of the initiative is to foster the development of tangible, collaborative, and innovative projects while facilitating networking among diverse stakeholders from both industry and academia.

Over these two days, participants will have the opportunity to:

♦ Advance scientific knowledge in subsurface applications (storage, mining, geothermal energy, etc.) through enhanced rock characterisation;

♦ Improve the environmental and technical performance of cement;

♦ Build stronger connections between academia and industry, finding a balance between immediate action and a long-term vision;

♦ Explore and visit the cutting-edge European synchrotron facility in Grenoble.

The first day (25 March 2024) will be dedicated to European facilities for geomaterials characterisation, while the second part of the workshop (26 March 2024) will focus more on industrial needs and participant feedback.

The workshop organisation is supported by the STREAMLINE project and it is part of  the flagship initiative “STREAMLINE TOUR – the ESRF meets Industry.”
