ESRF Membership: Catalyzing Greek Scientific Excellence
The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF), along with the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and NCSR “Demokritos”, in collaboration with the Greek Synchrotron Users Network (GrSUN), is organizing a two-day workshop, ESRF membership: Catalyzing Greek Scientific Excellence. On the first day, the emphasis will be on informing decision-makers about Greece’s potential membership in the ESRF, with a focus on highlighting the socio-economic and scientific advantages. The second day will transition into a scientific workshop, featuring presentations on synchrotron various applications in Industry, Health-Biology, Materials, and Cultural Heritage.
This workshop will underscore the pivotal role of synchrotron technology in fostering innovation across diverse domains, while also advocating for Greece’s participation in the ESRF.
For the March 2024 event, we’ve extended invitations to political and administrative leaders from relevant ministries, representatives from universities, research centers, and industrial organizations, as well as individuals interested in participating in synchrotron measurements. The aim is to inform and discuss Greece’s potential membership in the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF). The ESRF will be represented by its director general, department heads, and members of the research community, including Greek and foreign researchers who will present at the conference and engage in discussions regarding the proposal.
More information about the programme can be found here, while registration is open here.
The ESRF representative participation in this event is supported by the Streamline project.
